This gorgeous gem is rarely found as a gem quality crystal, which makes it a very rare gemstone indeed. Chrysoberyl naturally occurs in twinned crystals that sell as collector’s items. ‘Chryso’ which means golden in Greek gets its name from the yellowish golden hues that overpower the gemstone. Chrysoberyl is a parent to the variety Alexandrite that is very popular today for its color change. Some phenomenal stones display a cat’s eye as the light reflects off tubes present within the stone. These cat’s eye gems are symbolic of the ‘Ketu’ or the descending node of the moon, in the Hindu faith. The gem is called ‘lehsunia’ in Hindi.
On this page we have some samples of our wide collection of Natural Chrysoberyls.
