Bicolor Ametrine

Ametrine is the variety of Quartz that couples a honey colored Citrine with the purple hues of Amethyst. This perfectly balanced combination of colors can be seen within the gem in large sizes, as quartz tends to grow in large crystals naturally. The perfect gemstone for cocktail rings as the gem itself will attract a lot of attention. Mined in Bolivia, Ametrine forms because iron oxidation occurs at different states within the gem rough, giving rise to two varieties within one gem. Ametrine is usually cut in new modern cuts because of the large rough and the unique contrast of the colors within the gem.
