The unique, vivid green color of tsavorite garnets gives them their value and allure. Tsavorites with the richest emerald greens are the most valuable. Unlike emeralds, tsavorite garnets have superior brilliance, can be found with less inclusions, are more durable, and are easier to use in complex jewelry settings. Their supply is limited and deeper colors are very difficult to find. Large gemstones are extremely rare and those over several carats can even command prices much higher than diamonds.
